Working with me
I take on a small number of advisory engagements per quarter where the work overlaps with what I'm learning at Untether.
Where I'm most useful
- Software quality as a behaviour. Not tests or security bolted on at the end. The ingrained habit of caring about the craft and the quality of what you ship — good for customers, good for the business, and the work itself gets better. I help teams build the vocabulary, systems thinking, and habits that make that the default.
- Developer experience. The everyday friction of shipping — local setup, the inner loop, code review, deployments. The humdrum infrastructure that decides whether a team can ship safely and often.
- AI-augmented software development. Where AI changes the work, where it doesn't, and how to integrate it without losing what mattered before. My day-to-day at Untether.
How it usually looks
A standing rhythm — typically a half-day per fortnight — focused on a specific quality or delivery problem you've named. I write things down. We measure progress against the named problem, not hours.
Getting in touch
Email me at hello@msyea.co.uk with a short description of the problem you're trying to solve. If the fit is right I'll suggest a thirty-minute call to see.
